Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana serves more than 94,000 girl members, more than any other Girl Scout council in the United States. Girl Scouts of the USA is refocusing and re-energizing the Girl Scout Movement to remain compelling, contemporary, and relevant to today's girls. As part of a national transformation to modernize the organization and focus on leadership development for girls, seven Girl Scout councils in greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana area came together as one on July 1, 2008. This newly formed Girl Scout council brings together vast resources that expand opportunities for the girls to gain the leadership skills they need to make the world a better place.
Description:
HR Internship opportunity to learn entry level human resource functions including, but not limited to, general clerical duties, recruitment, benefits, training, human resources information systems, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Excellent time management, organizational, and people skills.
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Strictest confidentiality on all HR issues.
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be a team player with great intradepartmental skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and innovative work environment.
Strong working knowledge of PC and Microsoft Office 2007 applications.
Education & Experience:
Must be currently enrolled in a college or university working on obtaining an Associate or Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field. Strong interest in Human Resources as a career preferred. Familiarity with Federal and State laws and practices, standard human resources practices and procedures a plus.
