HRCI Certification

The Society of Human Resource Professionals (SHRP), the Chicago chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, will again be offering its highly successful, cost-effective preparation course for the HRCI certification exam.

PHR (Professional in Human Resources), SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), or GPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources)  Certification has become increasingly more important for continued career advancement. It demonstrates a human resources professional's commitment to education and growth. Many employers are now making it a "preferred" qualification for employment, and are encouraging their HR employees to become certified.

Certification is not easy -- it requires experience and knowledge of all areas of human resources management and then the ability to complete a difficult multiple-choice exam. Our instructors are all HRCI certified and HR generalists with many years of management level human resource experience. They offer the ideal setting in which to review both theory and real world applications of human resource skills. Our course materials cover all of the HR Certification Institute functional areas: Strategic Management, Workforce Planning and Employment, Human Resource Development, Total Rewards, Employee and Labor Relations, and Risk Management. The “Start Smart” six-session course is offered as a 6 week or a 3 full-day program.  Along with 18 hours of instruction, all study materials are included: the HRReview© WORKBOOK with detailed outlines, over 800 practice questions with comprehensive answers, and hundreds of QuickReview electronic and audio flashcards.  Also, included is an on-line coaching session with one of the WORKBOOK’s authors and a free on-line “final practice exam”. 

Recommended for HR professionals who possess solid knowledge in most HR functional areas.

Last Minute Course

The “Last Minute” course is offered for 2-1/2 days and consists of a 225-question sample “certification” exam with follow-up explanation of questions and exam tips.  A participant manual and QuickReview CD and Audio Flashcards are included. 
 

Recommended as a final review for those who took the Start Smart course, studied with other materials, or are taking the exam for a second time.

Start Smart Course and Last Minute Course 

By choosing to enroll in both of the courses, it will help you to maximize your learning for the exam, as well as test your knowledge prior to taking the PHR or SPHR exam.  This is a comprehensive approach that covers the body of knowledge, as well as exam concepts, tips, and a true “sample” exam experience.

Cancellation Policy

• Two weeks prior to the start of class - You may send someone to take your place or cancel without penalty at any time up to two weeks prior to the start date of your class.
• Between one and two weeks prior to the start date of your class - You may send someone to take your place without penalty or you can cancel and provided the book is returned in good condition & unopened, you will be refunded the full cost full cost of the class, less a 15% admin fee.
• Less than one week notice - You may send someone to take your place without penalty, provided you send the unopened book to your replacement at your cost. 
• Less that 1 week - If you provide SHRP with less then one week notice of your cancellation, you will be liable for the entire course fee.
